FORT WORTH, TX – A woman was fatally shot Thursday afternoon at an auto shop in the 2600 block of S. Riverside Drive (also known as US-287 Business) in the Morningside area.
Officers responded around 5:44 p.m. and found the adult female with a gunshot wound to her chest. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
The suspect, employed as a security guard at the shop, told investigators that the woman refused to leave and became aggressive. He initially used pepper spray when she approached, but she reportedly retrieved a stabbing weapon and continued advancing. The security guard then fired his weapon.
He was detained and is cooperating with homicide detectives. No arrest has been made at this time as the investigation continues.
Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
