Dallas Officers Rescue Woman Hanging From Bridge Over I-35, Video Footage Released

DALLAS, TX - Dallas police officers are being credited with saving a life after a dramatic early morning rescue on December 24, 2025.

At approximately 4:40 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a call in the 100 block of E. Camp Wisdom Road regarding a woman who was reportedly attempting to jump from a bridge. When officers arrived, Senior Corporal Timothy Griffin and Officer Carlos Gomez observed the woman sitting extremely close to the edge of the bridge, directly above the S.R.L. Thornton Freeway.

Recognizing the immediate danger, the officers quickly moved toward her. As they reached her, the woman went over the edge of the bridge. Senior Corporal Griffin and Officer Gomez were able to grab and hold onto her arm, preventing her from falling onto the freeway below. While maintaining physical control of the woman, officers called for additional assistance.

Sergeant Randall Mays arrived on scene and helped the officers safely pull the woman back over the railing and away from danger. Dallas Fire-Rescue then transported her to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said the officers placed themselves in imminent danger without hesitation to save the woman’s life. Without their swift and selfless actions, she would have likely suffered serious injury or death.

The Dallas Police Department praised the officers for their courage and compassion, noting that their actions reflect the department’s commitment to protecting life, especially in moments when seconds matter most.
