Dallas Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Armed Robberies at Carrollton Convenience Stores

Victor Manuel Heredia

SHERMAN, Texas – A Dallas man has been sentenced to more than six years in federal prison for a pair of armed robberies at convenience stores in Carrollton, federal prosecutors announced.

20-year-old Victor Manuel Heredia pleaded guilty to two counts of Hobbs Act robbery and was sentenced to 78 months (6 and a half years) in federal prison on January 5, 2026, by U.S. District Judge Michael J. Truncale, according to U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.

Court records show the crime spree began on November 6, 2023, when Heredia robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store on North Josey Lane. During that robbery, prosecutors said Heredia fired a gun into the ceiling of the store, escalating the danger to employees and customers inside.

The following day, Heredia struck again, robbing another 7-Eleven located on East Rosemead Parkway, also in Carrollton. That robbery was carried out at gunpoint.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in partnership with the Carrollton Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew T. Johnson prosecuted the case.

Federal officials emphasized that the sentence reflects the seriousness of using a firearm during violent crimes and the risk posed to the public during the robberies.
