DALLAS, TX – The Dallas Police Department is emphasizing its commitment to public safety through specialized patrols in the city’s downtown areas. In 2025, the Central Business District (CBD) and Central Patrol Divisions worked to address quality-of-life concerns while maintaining a strong police presence in the heart of Dallas.
The CBD, bordered by Stemmons Freeway, Interstate 30, Woodall Rogers Freeway, and the Interstate 345 Expressway, benefits from dedicated foot patrols, bike officers, and the Mounted Unit. Officers recorded 106 family violence arrests and apprehended 90 fugitives wanted on felony warrants. During Operation Skyline Shield, targeting offenders with warrants, probation violations, and known sex offenders, 21 felony arrests were made. The division also achieved the fastest response times for Priority 1 calls, averaging just two minutes.
The Downtown Task Force, a collaborative effort involving multiple Dallas PD units and external law enforcement partners, recovered more than 20 guns, 646 grams of marijuana, 32 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, 60 grams of methamphetamine, nine grams of PCP, and smaller amounts of MDMA, alprazolam, and fentanyl in November and December 2025. Over 45 felony arrests were made, including 19 suspects with more than 30 felony warrants.
In Deep Ellum, the Deep Ellum Task Force made over 550 arrests in 2025. Formed in response to rising crime and large weekend crowds, the task force partners with City departments and community stakeholders to ensure safety in the entertainment district.
Chief of Police Daniel Comeaux said, “Our officers are delivering results across Dallas. Downtown is benefiting from dedicated patrols and proactive work, while every neighborhood remains a priority.”
