DALLAS, TX - Dallas police impounded 11 all-terrain vehicles and made an arrest Sunday, January 25, 2026, after responding to multiple calls of reckless ATV activity and street racing across the city.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers with the Street Racing Task Force and patrol units were dispatched throughout the afternoon to several locations where ATVs were blocking roadways and driving dangerously.
At approximately 2:29 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of North Good Latimer Expressway and the 2600 block of Elm Street after reports of ATVs obstructing traffic. When officers arrived, they observed a white Jeep Wrangler performing donuts in the intersection. A traffic stop was initiated, and officers discovered a child inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as 23-year-old Eber J. Rosario Soto, was arrested and charged with endangering a child by criminal negligence, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and reckless driving. He was transported to the Dallas County Jail. The incident is documented under case number 011900-2026.
Later, around 3:35 p.m., the Street Racing Task Force responded to additional calls in the Central Patrol area and the Central Business District. Officers found a large group of ATVs illegally parked in the roadway in the 200 block of July Alley. None of the vehicles displayed license plates. Seven ATVs were impounded and taken to the Dallas Police Auto Pound under case number 011924-2026.
Additional complaints were received in the 800 block of South Riverfront, where three more unregistered ATVs were towed and impounded.
“While our officers are working around the clock responding to hazardous winter weather, choosing to street race is not just reckless, it’s dangerous and irresponsible,” said Chief Comeaux. “This behavior puts lives at risk and will not be tolerated in Dallas.”
Police said enforcement efforts will continue as officers work to curb illegal vehicle activity and reduce traffic hazards throughout the city.
