DALLAS, TX - A 28-year-old woman was killed Monday afternoon in a shooting in East Oak Cliff, and another woman was arrested at the scene on a murder charge, Dallas police said.
Officers with the Dallas Police Department responded at about 3:55 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2026, to a shooting reported in the 800 block of Green Cove Lane in the Wolf Creek area. Investigators determined that 28-year-old Tabatha Jones had been shot at the location.
Jones was transported to a hospital by Dallas Fire-Rescue, where she later died, police said.
Authorities arrested 49-year-old Shanika Battle at the scene and charged her with murder. Police said the suspect and the victim were known to one another.
