BALCH SPRINGS, Texas — A Dallas man has been federally charged after authorities say he shot a security guard while attempting to rob an armored car servicing a Chase Bank ATM.
Laroyce Antoine Lambert was charged by federal complaint on February 5, 2026, with attempted interference of commerce by robbery, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.
Court documents allege Lambert approached a security guard with a firearm as the guard was servicing an ATM at 2329 Lake June Road in Balch Springs. After the guard told him he could not access the money inside the machine, Lambert allegedly fired three shots and fled on foot through a fence.
The security guard suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital. According to the complaint, the guard’s body-worn camera captured Lambert pointing a firearm at him during the confrontation.
Investigators with the Balch Springs Police Department and the FBI Dallas Violent Crime Task Force reviewed surveillance footage that showed Lambert fleeing and entering a Dodge Charger. Authorities tracked the vehicle to an apartment complex in Fort Worth. Lambert was arrested there by the Fort Worth Police Department.
Lambert made his initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge on February 6, 2026, and remains in federal custody. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
The case is being investigated by the FBI Dallas Violent Crime Task Force, ATF Dallas, Balch Springs Police Department, Fort Worth Police Department, Dallas Police Department, Mesquite Police Department, and the Texas Rangers, with assistance from the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Robert Withers and Jeremy Fugate are prosecuting the case.
