40 Mile Multi-Agency Pursuit on I-35 From Carrollton Ends After Tactical Maneuver in Valley View

VALLEY VIEW, Texas - A vehicle pursuit involving multiple Denton County law enforcement agencies ended safely Friday morning after a coordinated effort brought fleeing suspects into custody before the chase could enter a populated area near school drop-off traffic.

Just before 7:00 a.m. on February 6, 2026, officers with the Carrollton Police Department attempted to contact suspects who were reportedly committing a theft while driving a stolen vehicle. When officers approached, the suspects fled, initiating a pursuit northbound on Interstate 35.

The chase continued through several jurisdictions and into Valley View, with assisting agencies notified as it progressed.

Valley View Police Department Sergeant Harris responded to assist. During the pursuit, officers deployed a tire deflation device, striking the suspect vehicle. Despite driving on deflated tires, the suspects continued northbound, refusing to stop and showing what officials described as a reckless disregard for public safety.

As the pursuit neared Valley View, officers recognized that morning school drop-off traffic was beginning. To prevent the situation from escalating in a populated area with parents, students, and pedestrians nearby, Sergeant Harris coordinated with the Cooke County Sheriff’s Office to safely end the pursuit.

Sergeant Harris executed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention maneuver, bringing the vehicle to a controlled stop. The suspects were taken into custody without injury.

They now face multiple felony charges, with additional charges possible as the investigation continues.

The Valley View Police Department praised the professionalism and coordination among the agencies involved, emphasizing that the swift action helped ensure the safety of the community during a high-risk situation.
