ROWLETT, TX — The Rowlett Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in a September 22, 2025, shooting at the Neighborhood Walmart located at 8800 Lakeview Parkway.
The Incident
At approximately 6:15 p.m., two masked individuals exited a maroon Dodge Charger in the store’s parking lot and fired multiple rounds at a Walmart employee who was collecting shopping carts.
Police say the employee was armed and returned fire. During the exchange of gunfire, the suspects took cover behind the Charger while the employee ran back into the store for safety. The suspects then reentered the vehicle and fled the scene.
Although the employee was not struck, investigators say the bold and public nature of the shooting remains a serious concern.
Investigation Update
Following an extensive investigation by the Rowlett Criminal Investigation Division, authorities identified the alleged driver of the vehicle as 22-year-old Ronald Davis of Waxahachie. Davis turned himself in on January 21, 2026, and has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Detectives are now working to identify the two gunmen captured on surveillance footage.
“We are asking anyone who recognizes these individuals or has knowledge of this incident to come forward,” a department spokesperson said. “Even a small detail could be the key to resolving this case.”
