Worker Dies After Water Line Ruptures at Frisco Construction Site

FRISCO, TX - One contractor died Tuesday after a water line ruptured and flooded a work area at a construction site in Frisco, authorities said.

Frisco Police and Fire Departments responded at approximately 1:21 p.m. February 10, 2026, to a reported water rescue at Eldorado Parkway and Independence Parkway.

According to officials, contractors with a private construction crew were working on a main water line when the pipe suddenly ruptured, rapidly filling an access well, also described as a safety box, with water. Two contractors were inside the box at the time. One was able to escape, but the other was later found deceased.

The exact cause of the incident remains under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and other safety authorities. The victim’s identity has not been released out of respect for the family.

Officials confirmed the construction project is privately operated and not affiliated with the City of Frisco.
