IRVING, Texas - A routine early morning traffic stop by Irving Police officers resulted in the arrest of a driver after investigators discovered multiple illegal narcotics packaged for distribution.
On February 11, 2026, at approximately 2:33 a.m., Irving Police officers were patrolling the 2500 block of North Belt Line Road when they observed a red Jeep with Nevada license plates displaying expired registration. Officers also noted the vehicle failed to maintain a single lane while traveling alongside other traffic.
Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of North Belt Line Road and Country Club Drive West and made contact with the driver, identified as 44-year-old Yousef Mohammad Dwaik, the sole occupant of the vehicle.
During the encounter, Dwaik informed officers that he had a knife located between the driver’s seat and the center console. Officers asked him to exit the vehicle so they could conduct a safety frisk. Dwaik consented to a search of the vehicle.
While searching the Jeep, officers located a glass pipe with burn marks and residue in the back seat area, which officers suspected to be related to methamphetamine use. A further probable cause search led officers to a black sock concealed beneath the driver-side floorboard lining.
Inside the sock, officers discovered approximately 2.2 grams of ketamine, 8.7 grams of crack cocaine, and 91.3 grams of methamphetamine. Police also located a small digital scale with powder residue nearby, along with narcotics packaged in separate baggies of varying weights consistent with distribution. All substances field-tested positive for illegal narcotics.
Dwaik was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 between 4 and 200 grams and one count of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 between 2 and 4 grams.
According to records, Dwaik has a prior history of arrests, including a pending case in Dallas County from a 2025 arrest, a stolen vehicle arrest in Coryell County in 2024, and a criminal trespass arrest in Bell County in 2022 while living in Lampasas, Texas. Dwaik speaks Arabic and is originally from the Middle East.
A Dallas County judge set Dwaik’s bond at $75,000. He was transferred to the Dallas County Jail, where he remains in custody as the investigation continues.
