Original Post:

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a murder suspect who authorities say removed her court ordered ankle monitor and is now evading law enforcement.

Investigators are searching for 35 year old Lisa Monique Mitchell, who is wanted in connection with a murder case out of North Richland Hills, TX.

According to authorities, a new warrant for Mitchell’s arrest was issued by the 432nd District Court after she removed the ankle monitor she was required to wear while out on bond.

Mitchell is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 230 pounds, with brown hair. Investigators believe she may still be in the Fort Worth area but say she may have the means and connections to leave the region.

Court records show Mitchell has multiple prior arrests, most involving drug possession. She was previously booked into the Tarrant County Jail on Sept. 24, 2025, on a murder charge by the North Richland Hills Police Department (NRHPD). Her bond was set at $250,000, which she posted before being released.  The release stipulated she was required to be fitted with the electronic monitoring system (anklie monitor) as she was a flight-risk.

According to NRHPD, detectives worked a drug overdose case last year where three individuals were arrested in a fentanyl overdose case.  The department referenced the legislation HB6 that passed in 2023 allowing agencies and prosecutors to charge individuals with murder for manufacturing or delivering fentanyl that results in a fatal overdose.  As a result, all three individuals faced murder charges related to the overdose case.  One of those individual is the wanted woman, Lisa Mitchell.

The victim who overdosed on Fentanyl and Methamphetamine was 44-year-old Duston Cheyne Mowdy.  He was found at the InTown Suites in the 6600 block of Eagle Crest Dr in North Richland Hills and transported to a local hospital where he died on March 6, 2025.  Court records show that Mitchell provided the drugs that killed Mowdy.

Authorities warn the public not to approach Mitchell.

Anyone who sees her or has information about her whereabouts is urged to call 911 or contact Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 817-469-8477, www.469tips.com or by downloading the P3 Tips mobile app.
