AUBREY, Texas — A man died Saturday night after crashing a golf cart while driving recklessly along sidewalks in Aubrey (Denton County), according to police.
On March 14, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Aubrey Police Department and Aubrey Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a golf cart near Frontier Parkway and McNatt Road.
According to the initial investigation, the golf cart was traveling westbound on the sidewalk along Frontier Parkway before turning southbound onto the sidewalk on McNatt Road. A pedestrian reported that the golf cart nearly struck them and said they called 911 to report the reckless driving.
Moments later, the witness saw the golf cart had crashed and the driver had been ejected from the vehicle.
Officers and fire department medics arrived to find the driver lying on the sidewalk with a head injury. First responders attempted lifesaving measures at the scene before transporting the driver to Medical Center Denton.
Authorities said the driver succumbed to his injuries before arriving at the hospital.
The driver’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Police say the preliminary investigation indicates alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
