GARLAND, Texas — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing inside a Garland grocery store Friday night, police said.
Officers responded shortly after 8:00 p.m. on March 27, 2026, to a stabbing at the Fiesta supermarket in the 2900 block of South First Street. Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from a stab wound inside the store. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
The victim was identified as 39-year-old Franky Seleyma Arredondo-Barrios, originally from Guatemala.
Investigators said the victim had entered the store to shop when he was attacked by an unknown suspect. Surveillance footage later showed a person believed to be involved leaving the store, and police released a description and image to the public.
Authorities said the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Juan Pedro Reyes of Garland, later turned himself in to police. He was booked into the Garland Detention Center and charged with murder.
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
