MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — Two Houston residents were arrested after deputies intercepted suspects linked to a multi-jurisdictional ATM burglary, authorities said.
On March 27, 2026, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 6 Patrol Division acted on information provided by the Plano Police Department regarding a recent ATM burglary in Plano involving a white 2025 Mazda CX-5.
Plano police advised that the vehicle was traveling south toward the Houston area, allowing deputies to monitor its movement and conduct a traffic stop as it entered Montgomery County.
During the roadside investigation, deputies recovered $15,854 in U.S. currency, primarily in $20 bills, along with clothing matching descriptions of the suspects seen on surveillance footage from the burglary.
The occupants of the vehicle were identified as 31-year-old Jaylon Jones and 35-year-old Gertie Jones, both of Houston. They were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
Both suspects have been charged with money laundering between $2,500 and $30,000, a state jail felony. Authorities said additional charges related to the ATM burglary are expected to be filed by the Plano Police Department as the investigation continues.
Officials credited coordination between agencies for the quick apprehension of the suspects.
