RED OAK, Texas — A 19-year-old Dallas man has been arrested and charged with murder following a deadly shooting in Ellis County, authorities said.
Deputies with the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office responded around 2:33 a.m. on April 5, 2026, to the 200 block of Hearne Lane in Red Oak in reference to a reported shooting involving an adult male.
The victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was airlifted to Parkland Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators with the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division processed the scene and conducted multiple interviews. Based on evidence collected, authorities identified the suspect as Pantalion Lucio, 19, of Dallas.
A warrant for murder was issued, and a magistrate set bond at $1,000,000.
With assistance from the Texas Attorney General’s Fugitive Task Force, Lucio was located at a residence in Dallas and taken into custody without incident.
Officials credited multiple agencies for assisting in the arrest, including the Red Oak Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Dallas Police Department, and the Attorney General’s Fugitive Task Force.
The investigation remains ongoing.
