IRVING, TX — An Arlington pastor and founder of a local Spanish-speaking ministry has been arrested for a second time this year after a new victim came forward alleging sexual assault. 50-year-old Troyce Hernandez (also known as Troy Hernandez) was taken into custody by Irving Police on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, following a detailed outcry from an adult female victim.
Hernandez, who founded True Grace Church in 2014, was already facing an active charge of Indecency with a Child - Sexual Contact stemming from a January 2026 arrest.
New Allegations of Abuse of Power
The most recent warrant involves a delayed outcry made on March 24, 2026. According to the arrest affidavit, an adult female victim arrived at the Irving Criminal Justice Center and reported being sexually assaulted multiple times by Hernandez in January 2010.
At the time of the incidents, the 18-year-old victim was living with Hernandez and his family in the 600 block of S. Briery Road in southwest Irving. Hernandez, serving as a pastor, had reportedly volunteered to house the victim to mentor her in her faith and desire to do more for God withing the church. The victim described an incident where Hernandez came into her room and undressed her. He began touching her sexually and then performed oral sex on her. According to the victim, she explicitly told Hernandez that she did not want him to engage in those acts. He responded to her, acknowledging that she was not giving consent. He then disregarded her wishes and raped her.
Irving Municipal Court Judge Jeffrey Cornell approved the warrant based on what investigators described as a "credible and detailed outcry."
History of Pending Charges
This is the second major allegation Hernandez has faced in 2026:
-
January 2026 Arrest: Troyce Hernandez was charged with Indecency with a Child regarding a 2008 incident involving a 14-year-old relative. During that investigation, Hernandez reportedly told police he "did not remember doing that but did not deny that it occurred."
-
April 2026 Arrest: Charged with Sexual Assault related to the 2010 incidents.
Following his initial arrest in January, some members of his congregation defended him on social media, suggesting the alleged behavior occurred before he dedicated himself to the church. However, the new allegations suggest a timeline of abuse while he was actively serving as a religious leader.
Church Response and Status
True Grace Church has not responded to requests for comment regarding Hernandez's current status within the organization. While his image was removed from the church's Facebook profile after the January arrest, as of April 8, 2026, he remains prominently featured on the home page of the church's website, though specific text references to his role as founder have been scrubbed.
Hernandez has frequently been hired as a guest speaker by various churches throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Both investigations remain active and ongoing as Irving Police continue to vet the timelines of both victims.
On Thursday, April 9th, Hernandez was transferred to the Dallas County Jail. Judge Isabel Cruz set his bond at $100,000.
