DALLAS, Texas — City leaders are asking the public to help shape the future of Dallas City Hall and nearby properties through a newly launched “Open Call for Concepts.”
The initiative follows a request from the Dallas City Council for additional information on potential options for the City Hall site, including adaptive reuse of the current building and redevelopment of surrounding land. That includes acreage expected to become available as part of the planned redevelopment of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
Residents, business leaders, and developers are encouraged to submit ideas and proposals that could guide future planning efforts.
“As we consider the future of Dallas City Hall and the surrounding site, I want every resident to know that their voice matters,” said Dallas City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert. “We’re inviting residents, developers, and planners to share bold, creative, and practical ideas so that whatever path we choose reflects shared priorities and delivers the greatest benefit to the people of Dallas.”
Submissions will be accepted through May 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. and can be accessed through the City of Dallas website or directly at dal.city/CHAnalysis.
City officials say the results will be included in a report to the City Council in May outlining potential paths forward for City Hall.
In addition to the open call, the city is launching a public survey in partnership with ZenCity to gather broader community feedback. The survey will remain open for approximately six weeks and is designed to capture statistically valid input on priorities for Dallas’s government center.
Officials say both efforts are intended to ensure community voices play a central role in shaping the future of one of the city’s most prominent civic sites.
