FORT WORTH, Texas — Five people were injured in a shooting during a family gathering Saturday night in East Fort Worth, police said.
Officers with the Fort Worth Police Department responded around 10:44 p.m. on April 11, 2026, to the 5200 block of Shackleford Street in the Glen Park area after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found five adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Fort Worth Fire Department personnel assisted at the scene, and all five victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Investigators determined the shooting occurred during a family gathering where a verbal argument escalated. Police said 22-year-old Jose Manuel Garcia allegedly produced a firearm and fired into the crowd, striking multiple people.
Garcia was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Authorities said the incident appears to be isolated, and the investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue gathering details.
