CARROLLTON, Texas — A 58-year-old woman was arrested early Monday, April 27th, after a reported stabbing at a residence on Old Denton Road where a fire broke out, leaving a 62-year-old man dead, according to the Carrollton Police Department.
Officers were dispatched around 1:40 a.m. to the 3600 block of Old Denton Road. Upon arrival, they found the home on fire and Carolina Macias sitting on the front porch. She told officers her husband, Ramon Macias, was still inside the residence.
Police said officers were unable to enter the home due to the intensity of the fire. Carrollton Fire Rescue crews arrived and located Ramon Macias inside the residence with a stab wound to the abdomen. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital, where Ramon Macias was pronounced dead.
Carolina Macias was arrested and charged with murder. She was taken to the Carrollton Jail.
Authorities said the investigation remains active and ongoing. Investigators believe the incident is isolated and said there is no danger to the public. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Carrollton Police Department.
