DALLAS, Texas — A man has been charged with murder after a shooting in Deep Ellum left a security guard dead early Wednesday, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. May 6 to a shooting call at the La Tardeada Club in the 2800 block of Elm Street.
Preliminary information indicates 23-year-old Detorius Tarver was involved in a physical disturbance inside a business. Police said Joseph Gray, 26, who was working as a security guard, attempted to break up the altercation when he was shot.
Gray was transported to a hospital by private vehicle, where he later died from his injuries.
Tarver was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.
