Knife-Wielding Suspect Shot, Killed by Police After Richardson Bar Attack

RICHARDSON, Texas — A man armed with a knife was shot and killed by police after injuring multiple people at a restaurant Wednesday night, according to the Richardson Police Department.

Officers responded around 10 p.m. May 6 to the 2100 block of East Buckingham Road at Good Vibes Bar and Grill following reports of a man threatening people with a knife.

When officers arrived, they encountered the suspect outside the entrance of the business, still armed. Police said several victims were inside the restaurant.

Officers issued multiple commands for the suspect to drop the weapon, but he refused. During the encounter, two officers fired their weapons, striking the suspect.

Responding officers immediately began providing aid to victims inside the restaurant until paramedics arrived. Four people injured in the attack were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The suspect was also taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation remains active, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
