FORT WORTH, Texas — A security guard was killed and a woman injured in an early morning shooting Sunday, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.
Officers responded around 5:45 a.m. May 10 to H&J Hamburgers located in the 4500 block of Miller Avenue after reports of a shooting. Police and the Fort Worth Fire Department arrived to provide medical aid.
Preliminary information indicates the security guard, who was working after hours, went across the street to a nearby business and began speaking with another individual. Investigators said a confrontation occurred, and the suspect shot the guard, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified as Dominique Coleman.
Authorities said the suspect also shot a second adult female, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Harris Hospital. She is expected to recover.
The suspect or suspects fled the scene.
Homicide detectives responded and are leading the investigation. In an update provided on Monday, May 11th, Fort Worth Police said that they were able to identify a vehicle used during the shooting, which then lead to the identification of two suspects. Investigators executed a search warrant in Dallas County where they arrested 21-year-old Dedrian Lamour Freeman Jr (charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault) and 46-year-old Dedrian Lamour Freeman Sr (charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon). A third individual was arrested at the location for an unrelated probation violation.
