RICHARDSON, Texas - The Richardson Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian Monday night along the west frontage road of North Central Expressway.
Police said officers received multiple 911 calls around 9:44 p.m. May 25 reporting a person walking in the roadway in the 2400 block of the west frontage road.
While officers were responding, additional callers reported the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
Paramedics with the Richardson Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead.
The department’s Special Crash Investigation Team is handling the investigation.
According to preliminary findings, the pedestrian was walking in the left lane of traffic when they were struck by an initial vehicle and then hit a second time by another vehicle.
Authorities said both drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with investigators.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
