DALLAS, Texas - Dallas police are investigating a fatal shooting that left a 36-year-old man dead at an apartment complex in the Wolf Creek area early Monday morning.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded at approximately 5:40 a.m. on June 1 to a shooting call in the 7500 block of Chesterfield Drive.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the breezeway of an apartment building at the La Playa Apartments – Mandalay Palms Shoreside complex.
Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel responded to the scene and provided medical assistance, but the victim was pronounced dead.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office later identified the victim as 36-year-old Broderic Dasmond King.
Preliminary information indicates King was shot by an unknown suspect. Police have not released information regarding a possible motive or suspect description.
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the homicide.
