FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead Sunday night in the city's South Division.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 11 p.m. on June 14, 2026, to the 4300 block of Carter Park Drive after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found an unidentified male lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Fort Worth Fire Department personnel also responded and provided medical assistance, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary information indicates that gunfire erupted in the area shortly before the victim was discovered. Witnesses told investigators they found the victim several minutes later and called 911.
Officers immediately began canvassing the neighborhood and conducting a preliminary investigation.
Police have not released any suspect information, and investigators said the person or persons responsible fled before officers arrived.
Fort Worth Police Department Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene and have assumed responsibility for the investigation.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the official cause and manner of death and will release the victim's identity after next of kin have been notified.
