Man Found Shot to Death on Carter Park in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead Sunday night in the city's South Division.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 11 p.m. on June 14, 2026, to JPS Hospital at 1500 block of S. Main Street after receiving reports of a shooting.

Preliminary information indicates that officers located an adult male in the emergency room suffering from at least two gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Despite life-saving measures by medical personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives determined the victim was transported to the hospital by a private vehicle. Investigators are working to determine the location where the shooting occurred and are currently interviewing witnesses involved in transporting the victim.

Police have not released any suspect information, and investigators said the person or persons responsible fled the scene.

Fort Worth Police Department Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene and have assumed responsibility for the investigation.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the official cause and manner of death and will release the victim's identity after next of kin have been notified.
