H-E-B's Long-Awaited Dallas County Arrival Begins in Irving, Store Now Open

IRVING, Texas — H-E-B has officially opened its first store in Dallas County, marking another milestone in the Texas-based grocery retailer's continued expansion across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Located at 2351 West Interstate 635, the new 112,000-square-foot store will serve residents of Irving, Coppell, Grapevine and West Dallas. The opening makes Irving the first city in Dallas County to host a traditional H-E-B supermarket.

The store joins the Joe V's Smart Shop North Irving location that opened on Nov. 21, 2025, at State Highway 183 and N. Story Road, giving local residents two grocery concepts operated by H-E-B.

The Irving location becomes H-E-B's 13th store in the DFW Metroplex, complementing three Joe V's Smart Shop locations and six Central Market stores throughout the region.

"We're honored to open our doors to this wonderful community, where our committed H-E-B Partners are ready to earn the loyalty and confidence of local families," said Juan-Carlos Rück, H-E-B Executive Vice President of North West Food/Drug Operations and Real Estate.

The store is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and includes several features designed to differentiate it from traditional supermarkets.

Among the highlights are a True Texas BBQ restaurant with a drive-thru, a full-service pharmacy with drive-thru service, H-E-B Curbside pickup and home delivery, and expanded prepared food offerings.

Customers will find hot breakfast, lunch and dinner selections, including Asian grill dishes, rice and noodle bowls, seafood offerings from True Texas Boil House, soups, bakery items and H-E-B's Meal Simple products.

The Irving location is also the first H-E-B store to feature Masala House, a new in-house prepared food concept offering items such as chicken masala, butter chicken, naan and chutney made fresh daily.

Store officials said the building was designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating energy-efficient systems including CO2 refrigeration units and LED lighting.

The new store employs more than 600 workers. H-E-B remains the largest privately held employer in Texas and is consistently recognized as one of the state's top employers.

As part of its grand opening celebration, H-E-B donated a total of $40,000 to four local nonprofit organizations. The recipients include the Irving Family Advocacy Center, Level Pathways, the Coppell ISD Education Foundation and Canine Companions, with each organization receiving a $10,000 contribution.

The opening represents the latest chapter in H-E-B's rapid North Texas growth. The company currently operates stores in Plano, McKinney, Allen, Alliance, Mansfield, Melissa, Prosper, Rockwall, Forney and Frisco. Future stores have been announced for Murphy, Walsh Ranch, Carrollton and Denton.

H-E-B has also acquired land at Hillcrest Road and LBJ Freeway for what will become the company's first store within the city limits of Dallas.

The Irving opening further strengthens the retailer's presence in one of the fastest-growing regions in Texas and provides residents with another major grocery option as the community continues to expand.
