Fort Worth Man Charged With Murder After Stabbing Victim Dies at Hospital

FORT WORTH, Texas — A 54-year-old man has been charged with murder after a stabbing victim died several hours after being found critically injured early Thursday morning in central Fort Worth.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers responded at approximately 1 a.m. on June 25 to the 1100 block of Colvin Avenue for a reported shooting.

When officers arrived, they discovered the victim had not been shot but had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Fort Worth Fire Department personnel provided emergency medical treatment before transporting the victim to a local hospital.

Officers obtained a description of the suspect and the vehicle involved. A short time later, officers located the vehicle and arrested 54-year-old Harrison Jamal Greer.

Greer was initially charged with Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

At approximately 11 a.m. the same day, police were notified that the victim had died from the injuries sustained in the stabbing. The charge against Greer was subsequently upgraded to Murder.

Investigators said witness interviews revealed a disturbance had occurred at the residence before the stabbing and that the suspect fled the scene afterward.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the victim's official identity, as well as the cause and manner of death.

The investigation remains ongoing.
