FORT WORTH, Texas - A homicide investigation is underway after one man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting that followed a large fight early Saturday morning in southeast Fort Worth.
Fort Worth police responded at approximately 2:23 a.m. on Aug. 1 to a reported fight at the intersection of Miller Avenue and East Berry Street.
When officers arrived, they learned a shooting had occurred nearby in the 4100 block of East Berry Street.
Responding officers located an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police later learned that a second gunshot victim had arrived at a local hospital in a private vehicle with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was reported to be in stable condition with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Fort Worth Police Department homicide detectives responded to the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the involvement of both victims.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased or announced any arrests.
