FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth police are asking for the public's help as detectives continue investigating a fatal shooting that occurred outside an after-hours block party in June.
Officers with the Fort Worth Police Department responded at approximately 4:24 a.m. on June 14 to a reported shooting in the 2300 block of South Riverside Drive, across the street from the GLT Nightclub.
According to police, the shooting occurred in a vacant lot where several hundred people had gathered for an after-hours block party.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as 42-year-old Jonathan Wayne Scott, also known as "Blacc." According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office, Scott died of a gunshow wound to the head.
Police said a second man who was also shot was transported to a hospital by private vehicle. He was treated for his injuries and later released.
No arrests have been announced.
