BARTONVILLE, Texas - Police are searching for a second suspect after a stabbing at a Bartonville equestrian center left one man seriously injured and resulted in the arrest of another suspect on an aggravated assault charge.
The stabbing occurred on July 19 at an equestrian center on Porter Road.
At approximately 10:49 p.m., officers with the Bartonville Police Department were dispatched to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound after a stabbing victim arrived at the emergency room. Investigators later determined the assault occurred at the victim's workplace and residence at the equestrian center.
According to police, the victim reported that an altercation with two brothers who also lived at the property escalated into a physical assault. During the confrontation, the victim suffered a stab wound to the upper right side of his abdomen.
A friend transported the victim to the hospital, where he was later transferred to a trauma center for additional critical care.
Officers responded to the equestrian center and secured the scene. Investigators said they found evidence consistent with both a physical altercation and a stabbing.
One suspect, identified as Yonkani Alvarez-Ruiz, was located on the property and detained. He was transported to the Denton County Jail without incident and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Police have identified the second suspect as Guillermo Alvarez, who remains at large. He is wanted on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Authorities have not released additional details about the incident or the relationship between the suspects and the victim.
The Bartonville Police Department thanked the Argyle Police Department, Double Oak Police Department, Northlake Police Department, Denton County Sheriff's Office, the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI Violent Crimes Squad in Frisco for assisting with the investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
