Motorcyclist Killed After High-Speed Crash Into Truck on Interstate 30 in Grand Prairie

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - A motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening, August 1st, after crashing into the back of a truck while reportedly speeding and weaving through traffic on Interstate 30, according to the Grand Prairie Police Department.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 5 p.m. on the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near the Belt Line Road exit.

Preliminary information indicates the rider of a sport motorcycle struck the rear of a truck while traveling westbound.

Witnesses told investigators the motorcyclist had been traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic moments before the collision.

The rider was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured, and no other injuries were reported.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office after next of kin have been notified.

The Grand Prairie Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
