DALLAS, Texas - Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux terminated four department employees during disciplinary hearings held Aug. 3, including a senior corporal, a patrol officer, and two civilian communications employees.
According to the Dallas Police Department, the disciplinary actions involved violations of department policies ranging from misconduct and criminal conduct to attendance-related violations.
Senior Cpl. Sarah Lenhart, badge No. 8960, was terminated for violating department personnel rules of conduct. Lenhart joined the Dallas Police Department in November 2006 and most recently served in the Southeast Patrol Division.
Police Officer Nakisha Cardwell, badge No. 11548, was terminated for engaging in adverse conduct after being arrested by the Mesquite Police Department on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, a Class B misdemeanor. Cardwell had served with the department since July 2018 and was assigned to the South-Central Patrol Division.
The department also dismissed Sanjuana Gonzalez, a Police Dispatch Analyst III assigned to the Communications Division. Gonzalez, who had been employed by the department since January 2004, was terminated for violating department policy regarding absence without leave from her assigned duty.
Karen Gutierrez, a 9-1-1 Call Analyst assigned to the Communications Division, was also terminated. Gutierrez, who joined the department in October 2021, was dismissed for violating department policy involving unapproved leave without pay due to excessive absences.
The disciplinary actions were finalized during hearings conducted by Chief Comeaux on Aug. 3.
