DALLAS, Texas - Dallas police are investigating a fatal shooting after a wounded driver crashed into a lake in West Dallas late Tuesday night.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 11:29 p.m. on Aug. 4 in the 2200 block of Singleton Boulevard.
The preliminary investigation determined that an unidentified victim was shot by an unknown suspect, who fled the scene before officers arrived.
Police said the victim drove away after the shooting but crashed the vehicle into a lake near the intersection of Singleton Boulevard and Fish Trap Road.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene, where the victim was pronounced dead.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the victim's identity and conduct the official investigation into the cause and manner of death.
No suspect information has been released.
The investigation remains ongoing under case number 114013-2026.
