Euless Police Detains Three Juveniles After Possible Weapon Prompts Lockdown at Trinity High School

EULESS, Texas - Three juveniles who are not students at Trinity High School were taken into custody Friday afternoon after a report of a possible weapon on campus prompted a lockdown and a large police response, authorities said.

The Euless Police Department responded to Trinity High School, 500 N. Industrial Blvd., at approximately 3:58 p.m. on Aug. 21, after information about a possible weapon was reported to the school's assigned School Resource Officer.

The SRO immediately coordinated the police response while Trinity High School administrators placed the campus on lockdown.

Within minutes of receiving the initial report, Euless officers detained three individuals, according to police.

Additional officers and investigators from the department's Criminal Investigation Division, along with School Resource Officers from neighboring campuses, responded to help secure the school and investigate the report.

Police Find No Weapon, Determine Threat Was Not Credible

After searching and investigating the circumstances surrounding the report, police determined that the threat was not credible.

No weapons were located on school property, according to the Euless Police Department.

Once authorities determined there was no credible threat, the lockdown was lifted. Students and staff were then safely dismissed for the day.

Police said all three people taken into custody are juveniles and none are students at Trinity High School.

Authorities did not disclose why the juveniles were on or near the campus, what led to the original report of a possible weapon, or what investigators believe occurred.

Potential criminal charges remain pending.

Because the three individuals are juveniles, Euless Police said their identities will not be released.

The department urged parents, students and community members to rely on official police and school district communications for information concerning campus emergencies and investigations.
