DESOTO, Texas - A Dallas man was arrested Tuesday morning after DeSoto Police say he fired a handgun at a pregnant woman's vehicle during a road-rage confrontation and then ran from officers who located him nearby.
DeSoto Police responded at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 25 to a report of a road-rage incident involving a firearm in the 400 block of North Hampton Road.
The victim, a 24-year-old pregnant woman, told officers that she encountered a man driving a gray Honda Accord near the intersection of Hampton and Parkerville roads.
According to police, the driver became upset after he was unable to merge in front of the woman's vehicle. He allegedly began following her before eventually pulling alongside her vehicle.
The woman told investigators the man pointed a handgun toward her and fired one round.
The woman was not struck or otherwise injured, but police said the bullet hit her vehicle near the 400 block of North Hampton Road.
Suspect Runs From Officers, Police Say
The victim provided officers with a description of the alleged gunman, his vehicle and information indicating he might be in the 1000 block of North Hampton Road.
Officers searched the surrounding area and located the gray Honda Accord in the 300 block of Hanna Avenue.
Police said officers then spotted a man matching the description provided by the victim. When officers ordered him to stop, he allegedly refused and ran.
Following a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended the man without further incident.
Police identified the suspect as Keenan Montrey Foreman, 28, of Dallas.
During the investigation, officers reported finding two handguns inside Foreman's vehicle.
Foreman was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot.
Police credited information provided by the victim with helping officers quickly locate and arrest the suspect.
