New homes are now available where run-down, crime-ridden apartments once stood. In celebration of the transformation on Tudor Lane, the City of Irving's Department of Housing and Human Services hosted a block party, and people got to tour some of the homes.
More than 200 people attended the April 6 Tudor Lane Block Party. Home Depot provided rose bushes for each home and students from Lamar Middle School helped plant them. To offer a glance at furnished homes, CORT Furniture staged two of the homes. YMCA provided a bounce house for entertainment, and Spring Creek Barbeque and Chick-fil-A donated food. Representatives from lending organizations, title companies and the community housing development organizations offered assistance to attendees.
