Irving Police Issues Warning Over Phone Scam

The Irving Police Department would like to warn residents of a recent telephone scam that has occurred in Irving. Several residents have reported getting phone calls from someone claiming to be an Irving police officer. The victim is told that a warrant for their arrest is being processed; however, if they pay the fine amount over the phone using a credit card, the warrant will not be issued. Police officers and other City of Irving employees do not call residents in order to collect money. If you receive a phone call like this, do not provide any identifying information and contact the police.
