Peer Awareness Comes to North Lake College

Driver distractions is one of the leading causes of motor vehicle accidents. Of the fastest growing and most problematic of driver dristractions is text message.

In a recent study involvin a driving simulator, teens using text-messaging devices and MP3 players made alarming changes in speed, weaved between lanes and ran over virtual pedestrians. Today's average teen sends 2,899 texts per month according to a recently published Nielsen study.

Your student will learn:

  • Dangers of texting and driving.
  • Consequences of their actions.
  • How to make the right choice.
  • Experience the aware TXT simulator.
  • Program is six hours long.
