Irving’s unemployment rate for August decreased to 3.6 percent from 3.9 percent in July, one of lowest rates since before 2000.
The success of the 20 Irving Economic Development Partnership wins helped contribute to this low unemployment rate. In 2015 the Partnership has contributed more than 3,200 job opportunities for Irving.
Irving’s 3.6 percent unemployment rate compares favorably to the Texas unemployment rate of 4.1 percent, the lowest rate of unemployment since January of 2001.
The national average unemployment rate remains at 5.2 percent.
