At about 10 pm on thursday night, a truck flipped over on State Highway 183 near Belt Line Road in Irving.
According to witnesses, the truck was swerving within its lanes and between lanes as it travelled westbound on Highway 183 from the old Texas Stadium site on Highway 114. As the truck approached Belt Line Road, it struck an SUV as it changed lanes, then clipped the center wall and rolled onto its side.
The 64-year-old Irving man was partially ejected and died at the scene. The driver of the SUV that was hit had minor injuries.
Irving police are investigating the possibility that alcohol was involved. Police say that the driver’s erratic driving and high speed suggest that alcohol might have been involved.
