Irving ISD Announces New Principal Appointments for 2009-2010 School Year

 

Brenda Bingham is the new principal at Hanes Elementary School. Bingham previously served as principal at Britain Elementary School. She joined Irving ISD as a fifth grade teacher in 1977 at John Haley Elementary School. In addition to teaching for 13 years and serving as principal at Britain since 2001, Bingham has served as vice principal at Davis Elementary School, vice principal at Brown Elementary School, and principal of Brandenburg Elementary School.

 

Jane Lampton will replace Bingham at Britain and most recently has served as principal at Barton Elementary School. Prior to joining Irving ISD, Lampton worked in Dallas ISD teaching reading and special education, and then served as resource administrator, acting principal, and assistant principal. Lampton served as principal at Dallas Lee Elementary School for 11 years before joining Irving ISD at Barton in 2000.

 

Maria Elena Coronado is the new principal at Barton. Coronado previously served as principal at Lee Elementary School, serving in that capacity since 2005. Prior to becoming a principal at Lee, Coronado worked in Dallas ISD and with Diocese of Dallas – St. Mary of Carmel. She joined IISD in 1997 as bilingual third grade teacher at Johnston Elementary School, then became vice principal at Barton in 2000.

 

Wendi Vaughn is the new principal at Lee. Vaughn joined Good as a University of Texas at Arlington administrative intern in 2006, then became vice principal in 2007. From 1992-1997 Vaughn taught sixth grade with Savanna Public Schools in Oklahoma, then joined IISD in 1997, serving as gifted and talented fourth grade teacher at Hanes until 2006.

 

Erin Yacho has been appointed as an IISD Parent Coordinator. Prior to this appointment, Yacho served as principal at Schulze Elementary School. She came to Irving ISD in 1994 to teach bilingual first grade at Good. After completing an administrative intern program, Yacho became vice principal at Farine Elementary School in 1999. She was named principal at Schulze in 2004.

 

Steven Wurtz returns to Irving ISD as the new principal at Schulze. Wurtz previously served as assistant principal at Keyes Elementary School from 2003 to 2007. He became principal at Stephen F. Austin Elementary in Grand Prairie ISD in 2007. Wurtz began his career with IISD in 2000 at the language development center teaching first through fifth grade ESL/bilingual. He moved to Good Elementary School in 2001 as fourth and fifth grade gifted and talented and fifth grade bilingual teacher.

 

Stephanie Lee is the new principal at Clifton Early Childhood School. Lee joined Irving ISD in 2000 as special education teacher at Britain, then became third grade teacher the next year. From 2003-2005 Lee taught fourth grade, and added fourth grade ESL teaching to her experience in 2005. She was named vice principal at Townsell Elementary School in 2006.
