DFW Humane Society offering discounted fees for cat adoptions during June

In honor of National Shelter Cat Month, the DFW Humane Society if offering discounted adoption fees on all cats and kittens.

The promotion, good for the entire month of June, offers a $25 adoption fee for any cat one-year-old or older.  Most adult cats at the Humane Society have been spayed and neutered.

The June promotion also features a “two-furr-one” adoption on same-sex kittens. The $100 adoption fee includes spaying and neutering both kittens when they reach the appropriate age.

In addition to spaying and neutering, both adoption fees include leukemia testing, FVRCP vaccination, general deworming, microchip placement and enrollment, free exam with veterinarian of choice within 10 days of adoption, and a temporary transportation carrier.

The non-promotional fee for cat and kitten adoptions at the DFW Humane Society is $85, making savings during National Shelter Cat Month $60 for cats and $70 for two kittens.

“We currently have an unusually large amount of cats and kittens needing a good home,” states Sara Kammerer, DFW Humane Society shelter manager.   “With summer being our busiest time of year, we are hoping this promotion will help elevate space issues that we could face later in the season.”

The DFW Humane Society, located at 1611 W. Irving Blvd. in Irving, is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.  The shelter is closed Monday and Tuesday.  For more information, call 972-253-3333 or visit on-line at www.dfwhumane.com.
