The City of Irving is falling into autumn! The inaugural Fall Festival is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 12 at Whistlestop Plaza, 123 W. Irving Blvd.
And the city staff has gone over-gourd with the pumpkins! They are planning pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling and a pumpkin patch for perfect Instagram-able moments. Visitors also can expect carnival-style games, food and music — all to welcome the fall season.
When the fun is over, the pumpkins are free to take home, but only to Facebook friends. Families who prove they have liked and followed the new Irving Parks and Recreation Facebook page can take a pumpkin home for free. The page can be found by searching
@IrvingParksandRec. Residents can pull up the page on their phones and show an event employee. Pumpkins will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
