Irving Police Assists FBI in Locating Murder Suspect from California

The Irving Police Department was assisting the FBI Fugitive Task Force from Los Angeles, California, to locate 46-year-old Herbert Nixon Flores who was suspected in the murder of his ex-girlfriend on January 6, 2021. Los Angeles Police Department stated the murder occurred on Bartee Ave in Pacoima.

The investigation revealed that Flores was visiting family in the City of Irving. The Irving Police Department's Fugitive Unit and Criminal Information Center began an investigation which ultimately led to Flores being located in Arlington. While officers were monitoring the location, Flores was seen getting inside a vehicle and began traveling towards Dallas. With the assistance of Dallas Police Air Unit and ground units, Flores's movements were tracked until marked police cars were in the area. Flores realized that he was being followed, abandoned his vehicle, and began walking on foot. Once Flores saw marked police cars pulling up on him, he killed himself with one self-inflicted gunshot wound from a handgun he had on his person.
