Irving Police responded to 31 accidents between midnight and 7 a.m.
Police Chief Jeff Spivey tweeted early in the morning, "Since midnight @IrvingPD have worked 31 accidents and currently have another 18 holding awaiting available resources. If you do not need to leave your residence, please stay home. This is an extremely dangerous time to be on the roadways."
By 9:30 a.m., Irving PD was working 14 accidents simultaneously.
At 7 am, the Irving Fire Department responded toa major accident at State Highway 114 and Spur 348. This accident involved 14 vehicles which occupied parts of 114 and the managed HOV lanes. Two patients were taken to the hospital.
