Sound wall designs for State Highway 183 are completed. The walls will be used to buffer road noise for residential properties that back up to the roadway corridor.
Sound walls will be 10 feet tall and designs for the ornamentation and aesthetics were prepared by the Facility Development Department in conjunction with the Texas Department of Transportation.
City staff designed the six, 5-foot-by-8-foot decorative panels with images of running horses to include at street intersections. Sound wall construction is expected to begin next spring, with completion during fall 2010.
