The Citizen’s Fire Academy is a great opportunity for the citizens of Irving to learn more about their fire department.
The CFA is an 8 week program, held one night a week, with the goal of introducing our citizens to the many different things we do. It is not a certified academy for employment as a firefighter.
Ever wondered, “what do firefighters do?” We will answer that question, and you will get some hands-on experience donning protective clothing, putting on HAZ-MAT suits, using SCBA, going through the MAZE in protective clothing, operating the fire hose, and fire extinguishers. It will be very informative, and extremely fun! You don’t want to miss out.
