Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) is encouraging the Irving community to participate in the 2022 “Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off” happening Saturday, April 2 from 9 a.m. to noon at Trinity View Park, 2221 E. State Highway 356.
Interested volunteers can register online by March 25. Registration is open to all ages – volunteers 17 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Online registration will close when all slots are filled.
During the event, KIB will provide cleanup supplies for onsite volunteers including trash bags, gloves, and grabbers. Following the event, volunteers will receive a free lunch.
In conjunction with the event, Crisis Ministries of Irving Food Pantry will host a canned food donation drive. Participating volunteers will receive a free KIB T-shirt, while supplies last.
For more information, email rhose@cityofirving.org or call (972) 721-2175.
The statewide cleanup event is a signature event for the national “Great American Cleanup.”
PARTICIPATE IN VIRTUAL CLEANUP
KIB also is offering a virtual cleanup option for residents who wish to participate in smaller groups.
Virtual volunteers should pick a safe location to conduct their own cleanups.
After their cleanup is completed, the group should share on their social media account:
- A picture of the group
- The number of volunteers
- Total hours of participation
- Total number of trash and/or recycling bags collected
